A rare Bird (and weren’t they all!) on the 1890s pennant-winning clubs in Baltimore, Hall of Famer Hughie Jennings has autographed this vintage photograph. Unevenly trimmed to approximately 4-1/4 x 7-1/4”, the black-and-white heirloom features a telling depiction of Jennings (d.1928) in his trademark “Ee-Yah!” ritual. Jennings’ Detroit Tigers apparel dates the photo to the first five years (1907-1911) of his managerial tenure in the Motor City. Executed in black ink steel tip fountain pen, Jennings flowing signature projects (“7” strength and clarity. The thick stock photo has creases and instances of minor paper loss, none of which affect Jennings’ bold endorsement, which is among the most rare and desirable in Hall of Fame circles. Accompanying is a full photo LOA from JSA.
